6th Annual Cadette Senior Camporee

Thus year there are some changes from years previously. Nothing too drastic but nonetheless there are some changes. One change is the dates for the two sessions. Because many schools are just finishing during the June session we have decided to offer a July option. The 4 day option is available for both sessions.

There will be two options for both sessions. The two dates for the sessions are the week of June 20 and the week of July 18.

We will offer the 4 day event and the 7 day event camping but everyone will need to be here by Sunday night. We will not have people arriving Monday or later and still be able to participate in all the scheduled activities.

4 Day Campers

Events are as follows:

Whitewater Rafting (choose one of 2 different trips) ˝ day class 1 – 3 rapids on the lower Nolichucky River or you may choose the upper section with an additional$ 15 per person.

Rock Wall Climbing each group will have 2 hours to climb.

Caving here at Appalachian Caverns plan on getting wet

Regular tour and Seminar

Putt-Putt

Bristol Motor Speedway Tour

Ice Cream Social Night

Movie Night here we will have a few movies by popular vote we will show that movie on site. If things go well we may have the chance to show another movie on one other night.

New this year a TOPO walk teaching scouts how to read the lay of the land

The cost for the 4 Day Campers will be $125 per person (adults and girls)

7 Day Campers

Everything covered in the 4 day campers list plus you will also have the following scheduled:

Mountain Bike ride on the VA Creeper Trail (2 options this year you must choose one fully as a group) the ride scheduled will be 17 miles if you wish you may do the full trail from top to bottom which is about 33 miles. If you choose to do the full ride it will cost an additional $10 per person.

Hiking this year we have a guide that has hiked with groups along the Appalachian Trail a retired Marine ready to take you on an adventure.

Caving at Worley’s cave with one of our guides we have a group of guides that know that cave very well. You don’t have a shower there so plan accordingly.

The Water Battle fun for everyone we will also probably have the plastic down for the slip and slide.

The cost for the 7 day campers $175 per person (girls or adults)

REMEMBER these fees are without any of the additional charges for additional activities (ie full 33 mile ride, high class rapids)

ONE ADDITIONAL OPTION OFFERED:

ZIP LINE in Boone NC which is 60 miles away and it takes about 1 hour and 20 min to get there. The additional cost will be $65 per person and they have 17 lines. If we have enough people sign up and commit we may get a better price.

This was not something we wanted to include in the packages as it could be too expensive for some troops but we did want to offer it because some troops in the past have asked why it wasn’t offered.

Providers for the activities are:

Rafting - Cherokee Adventures 25 – 40 people per group

Rock Wall Climbing – Appalachian Rock Walls about 20 per group

Race Track Tours – Bristol Motor Speedway about 20 per group
